POSC-01 ESSENTIALS OF THE AMERICAN POLITICAL SYSTEM
(CAN GOVT 2)
(CSU breadth area D8) 3 units: 3 hours lecture.
Advisories: ENGL-A, ENGL-41.
This course will introduce students to institutions of American national government, the American political system, and California state and local government. The course includes a study of the United States Constitution and its application to federal, state, and local government. Emphasis is placed upon various roles of national and state government, constitutional rights and obligations of citizens, and the evolution and development of California state political institutions. This course meets the United States Constitution requirement and the federal, California state, and local government requirement. (5/03)
POSC-02 AN INTRODUCTION TO WORLD POLITICAL SYSTEMS
(CSU breadth area D8) 3 units: 3 hours lecture.
Advisories: ENGL-A, ENGL-AL, ENGL-41, ENGL-41L.
This course is a comparative study of theory, structure, and application of governmental systems of major European nations, as well as developing areas. Emphasis will be the governments of England, France, Germany, Russia, and Japan. (9/99)
