Success Tips for Online Courses

FREE workshop - Walk-ins welcome!

Study Central in the Student Union at Merced College Campus (map)

Presented by Jodie Steeley,
Merced College Professor

Know what to expect when you sign up for a class.  Merced College offers online, hybrid and web-enhanced classes in addition to the traditional on-campus variety.  Learn about the differences below.

  1. On-Campus:  Traditional courses which meet on campus and maximize collaborative, in-person learning experiences. May or may not be enriched with web-enhanced materials.

  2. Online:  Courses are 100% on line. Face-to-face interaction with the professor is not required.

  3. Hybrid:  Courses have some combination of online and face-to-face instruction. Some courses may only require one face-to-face session, while others may require numerous in-class sessions.

  4. Web-Enhanced:  Regular courses are held on campus but some assignments are online.
