January 24, 2005 Merced College will host its 20th Annual Black Heritage Celebration, Sunday, Feb. 27 at the Merced College Theater. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. with a reception following at 4 p.m. in the Staff Dining Room located in the Student Union. Michelle Allison will be the Mistress of Ceremonies for an event that is sure to motivate and inspire participants of all ages. Highlighting the ceremony will be the local talent of the Apostolic Tabernacle Choir, Dance Empowerment, an EOPS-CARE Fashion show with the latest designs, student and community speakers and vendors with African theme products. This event is sponsored by the Merced College Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) and University of California Merced. The celebration is free of charge and the public is encouraged to attend. A meal will be served following the performance. Assistance will be available for the handicapped.
