February 2 , 2005 Merced College will host the 20th Annual Black Heritage Celebration, Sunday, February 27 at the Merced College Theater. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. with a reception following at 4 p.m. in the Staff Dining Room located in the Student Union. This will be an event that is sure to motivate and inspire participants of all ages. Highlighting the ceremony will be the local talent of the Merced Community Choir, Dance Empowerment, an EOPS-CARE Fashion show with the latest designs, student and community speakers and vendors with African theme products. There will also be a presenter from Riverside Motor Sports Park with two race cars on display. This event is sponsored by the Merced College Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) and University of California, Merced. The celebration is free of charge and the public is encouraged to attend. A meal will be served following the performance. Assistance will be available for the handicapped.
