August 16, 2006 Curtis Nelson will be entertaining guests this year at the Merced College Foundation Annual Scholarship Banquet on Friday, October 13 at St. Patrick’s Parish Hall. Proceeds from this event, called “An Autumn Affaire,” are earmarked for scholarship awards to local students transferring from Merced College to UC Merced. Tickets are $75 per person which includes dinner, complimentary wine, event souvenir, and cabaret entertainment by Curt Nelson accompanied by Patrice Stribling Donald. A silent auction and a desert auction will also be held during the dinner. The dinner tickets and auction items are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Through the generosity of a $125,000 scholarship endowment by the UC Merced Committee and the Merced Community Scholarship Association, future students will have the financial aid available to help them realize their goal of higher education. The Merced College Foundation plans to match these funds to create a $250,000 endowment that will meet the needs of all future students transferring to UC Merced. To order tickets visit the Merced College website at www.mccd.edu/advancement/autumn or call the Merced College Foundation at 381-6471
