
Scott McCall
Head Coach
Coach McCall heads into his third year as head coach after 3 years of being the assistant. A Merced native he graduated from Merced high school in 1995. McCall lettered in swimming and water polo all four years and was a member of the 1994 CIF section championship water polo team. He then went on to Merced College were he was an All America in water polo under Coach Bob Pollitt. After receiving his AA he transferred to University of Massachusetts at Amherst. McCall played two years of water polo under Coach Russ Yarworth. During the two years Umass was the top team on the East coast winning the Eastern Championships in 1998 and making the NCAA final four. Scott graduated from Umass with a BS in Exercise Science.
McCall began his coaching career under Ricardo Azevedo at Long Beach Shore Aquatics. For two years he coached for Long Beach Shore and at Millikan High school in Long Beach. While studying at CSULB he became a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA. McCall graduated from Long Beach with a MS in Kinesiology. McCall resides in Merced with his wife Anne.

Seth Gentry
Assistant Coach
Coach Gentry heads into his first year as assistant coach. An Atwater native he graduated from Atwater high school in 1997. Gentry lettered in swimming, water polo and basketball all four years and earned All-America honors in water polo (1996-97). He then went on to Merced College were he earned first team All America honors in water polo (97,98) and became Merced College’s all time leading scorer under Coach Bob Pollitt. After receiving a full scholarship to California Baptist University in Riverside, CA. Gentry played and was team captain for two years of water polo under Coach Rick Rowland. During the two years California Baptist was nationally ranked in the top 15 teams at the NCAA level in the United States in water polo including their inaugural year 1999. Seth graduated from California Baptist University with a BA in Social Science.
Gentry began his coaching career under Roddy Svendsen and Matt Hansen at Atwater High School. He coached water polo at AHS for five years and coached varsity basketball (AHS/BCHS) with his brother Shane Gentry for eight years. Gentry currently teaches world history at Yosemite High School and is completing course work for a MA in cross-cultural education at National University.
