Merced County Human Services Agency - Work Experience (WEX)
The
goal of the Work Experience (WEX) program is to provide the opportunity
for participants to gain the skills and experience necessary to enter
unsubsidized employment. WEX place CalWORKs participants in training and
work experience positions with public and private non-profit agencies.
The objective of Work Experience (WEX) in collaboration with Merced College
is to place CalWORKs participants in training and work experience positions
on campus. Work Experience can help CalWORKs students at Merced College
meet their 35/40-hour requirements. A WEX site is a place where students
can get experience in the workforce; a WEX site can also be used on a
student's resume.
