Biography & Education
This page is designed to give current and prospective students some background information about myself.
About my Education:
I received my Associates of Science degree from the Community College of the Air Force, while serving on active duty. After I served my four-year term, I moved to the Bay Area and enrolled at Las Positas Community College. I then completed prerequisites in order to transfer to CSU Stanislaus. At Stanislaus, I completed my Bachelors degree in Psychology (Summa Cum Laude), in addition to a Masters degree in Psychology, with an emphasis in Counseling.
About me as a Teacher:
While a graduate student at CSU, Stanislaus, I began teaching undergraduate psychology courses. Upon completion of my Master's degree, I continued to teach at Stanislaus until Fall of 2008, when I was blessed to be offered a position here at Merced College. During my teaching career I have taught numerous courses, including Intro to Psychology, Research Methods, Abnormal Psychology, Counseling Theory, and Counseling Techniques.
About me as a Therapist:
I have worked in the field of mental health since 2004. I have worked in a variety of settings, including drug-rehab centers, private clinics, non-profit agencies, and high schools. Most of my clientele have been adolescents and their families. I am currently a registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, collecting hours toward licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
