Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- High school
diploma or the equivalent AND two years
experience in the clerical field or completion
of a course of instruction in a related computer
training program.
- Candidate
must have sensitivity to and understanding of
the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural,
disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community
college students.
General Description:
Under the general direction of the Dean or Director, performs a variety of
instructional and clerical duties designed to free the
instructor from routine, ancillary and preparatory work
associated with an office skills training program.
The focus of the duties is not only on assistance to the
instructor but to the students as well.
Essential Functions:
- Orders, receives, issues and maintains
supplies, tools and equipment
- Prepares
classroom or laboratory setups
- Assists
students on projects
- Performs
clerical and record keeping function
- Keeps
instructional areas clean and orderly
- Trains and
oversees student assistants
- Maintains
operations of computers and lab equipment
including operation of software programs
Knowledge of:

Microsoft Office software programs

Fundamentals, terminology, techniques, materials
and equipment used in office skills
Ability to:
-
Use, demonstrate and maintain the specialized
materials, instruments, tools and equipment of
office skills

Speak, read and write standard English
-
Understand and to make advanced mathematics
computations

Work with a minimum of supervision and with a
high level of knowledge in office skills

Be flexible

Be multi-tasked in a classroom setting

Cooperate with others
