Respondus and Firewalls

If you have difficulties running Respondus and happen to have McAfee(r) AntiVirus, Firewall & AntiSpyware 2007, please go to their user guide. (page 132-133)

If you have Norton Symantec, read the manual to grant access to Respondus.

Note: if your Antivirus Solution is not active because you did not renew the yearly subscription, you need to either renew it or uninstall it. Otherwise you will not be able to configure the Firewall rules.
To remove Norton AV, go to Google and click on Norton Removal Tool from Symantec. Choose "Download and run the Norton Removal Tool" and follow their instructions.

  • GRANT FULL ACCESS to a NEW PROGRAM in the PERSONAL FIREWALL:

RESPONDUS LockDown.exe

 

This issue might apply to other Antivirus programs as well.
