Turn Off Pop-Up Blockers

In order to access the Online Resources at Merced College, including Blackboard CE6, you need to allow Pop ups from the following sites:

http://my.mccd.edu, http://blackboard.mccd.edu, http://webadvisor.mccd.edu,  etc.

NOTE: We recommend you uninstall all the popup blockers (Google, Yahoo, AOL, etc.) and leave only one in use, the one that comes with Internet Explorer. An analogy would be seat belts, Popup blockers are like seat belts. You do not need to have 3, 4 or more sets of seat belts for the driver. One set alone is capable of protecting you.

Pop-Up blockers prevent windows from opening automatically. They can be useful to prevent the spontaneous appearance of annoying and inconvenient ads. However, certain Web sites that use pop-up functionality will not function properly if a pop-up blocker is enabled. The OCS Portal, Email Portlet, Blackboard courses, Outlook Web Access (OWA), etc. require you to have any pop-up blockers turned off to function properly. Select one of the following pop-up blockers to learn how to disable it.

How do I turn off popup blocker in Firefox?

Make sure to allow Pop-ups

• Step 1

Go to tools, Options

• Step 2

Go to content and uncheck Block pop-up windows. Do not forget to click OK
