How to Install
Respondus Lockdown Browser™

The Respondus Lockdown Browser is a
tool for securely administering quizzes.

Once you click on
the link, you will need to follow these steps.
Note: Windows Machines must be using Internet Explorer
to download the program.

Click on the Logo
of the Operating System where Respondus LockDown Browser will be installed.

Select the type of
computer you are using:
-
Lab Computer
(campus or school)
-
Your Own
Computer
-
Work Computer
Click on the link reading "Install from server."

Click on the link
reading "Download Installer"

Save the file
called LockDownSetup.exe and after saving it, locate it and RUN it.

You will then have
to click the RUN button again.

Next, click Extract
and make sure to the box RUN AFTER EXTRACTION is checked.

Click Yes on
the following screen of the installer.

Click Yes
again on the following screen of the installer.

Next, the
InstallShield package for the Respondus Browser will open. Click Next.
-
Select "I accept
the license agreement," and click Next.
-
You can leave the
install location as the default and select Next.

On the next screen,
click Install.
-
Then select
Finish.
On Windows machines, you launch the
browser by clicking Start ->All Programs->Respondus. When you
start the browser it may prompt you to close some running applications, such as
the AOL and MSN Instant Messengers, before you can continue. Once the browser
launches, simply navigate back to your quiz. Note: The
browser should only be used for taking quizzes; we do not recommend or support
it for any other functions.
