Merced College Student of the Month
Interests: Bookstores and Photography
Future Goals: Become a Registered Radiologic Technologist
Nominating Instructor: K. Judy Rose
Neil Gaurav Singh was selected as outstanding student for November 2003. Mr. Singh graduated with honors in 2003 with an A.S. degree from Merced College, and is currently finishing up the certificate portion of the Radiography Program at Merced College. He began the program in the fall of 2001, and is right on target with the completion of his course of study. Likewise, his grade point average is excellent and testifies objectively to his strong, academic performance.
His teachers, particularly his radiography instructor, Judy Rose, praise him liberally: "Mr. Singh's dedication to excellency in everything he endeavors has led him to take on challenges that would overwhelm most radiographers and radiography students." He is not in the least reluctant to take on any kind of volunteer job that is required to ensure smoothly functioning co-curricular events. "From clean-up duty to representing the radiography program at high school career days, Neil has stepped in without hesitation," comments Judy Rose. It is no wonder that with an attitude and abilities such as his, he has either received or been nominated numerous times for awards, such as the Viking Award, the Recognition in Biology form the Golden State Examination Board, and the Clinical Excellency Award from the Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
Mr. Singh's future goals include becoming a Registered Radiologic Technologist first, and eventually a Radiology Physician's Assistant. He already has a position lined up at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital.
Outside of college, Mr. Singh enjoys bookstores, and spending time with his family and friends. Once it will become economically feasible for him, he intends to pursue his dream of traveling to foreign lands, exploring exotic locales, and pursuing photography.
