The President’s Medallion Awardee

The Anderson family of Los Banos played a pivotal role in shaping the future of higher education in the region through their generous donation of the land that became the permanent home of the Merced College Los Banos Campus. Before this gift, the campus operated from several temporary locations, limiting its ability to expand and provide comprehensive educational opportunities. Their donation provided the stability needed for Merced College to establish a dedicated campus, creating a lasting foundation for student success in Los Banos and beyond.

Thanks to the Anderson family’s generosity, the Los Banos Campus has grown into a thriving educational hub, offering a broad range of academic programs and support services. The campus provides local students with the opportunity to pursue higher education without having to leave their hometown, strengthening workforce development and community engagement. The passage of a bond measure in November further underscores the community’s commitment to expanding and enhancing the campus, a testament to the impact made possible by the Anderson family’s vision and support.

In recognition of their transformative contribution, the Anderson family will be honored with the President’s Medallion Award at the State of the College event in April. Their legacy continues to shape the future of education in Los Banos, ensuring that generations of students have access to quality learning opportunities close to home.
