How Do I Check Out Computers?

Desktop computers are available on the 1st & 2nd floors of the Downey Learning Resource Center in Merced and Los Baños Campus Library for Merced College staff, faculty, and currently enrolled students. Computers are for homework and research use, per Merced College Board Policy 3720, and provide access to the internet.

To use the computers, just log in with your Portal username and password:

Password:  **********

You can also check out headphones and tablets with your student ID.

Headphones
  • Check out at any Circulation Desk
  • 4 hours
  • In-library use only
 iPad Minis (Merced)
  • Merced: check out at 1st Floor Circulation Desk
  • 4 hours in-library use
  • Limited # of iPads for weekend & 1-week use
Microsoft SurfacePros  (Los Baños)
  • Los Baños: check out at Circulation Desk
  • 4 hours
  • In-library use only

How Do I Connect to WiFi?

Students, Staff, & Faculty

  • Open the wireless network settings on your mobile device
  • Search for SSID: “mccd-wifi”
    • If you are a MCCD employee using a district-managed mobile device, connect to SSID: “mccd-secure”
  • Log in using your Portal username and password

Guests

  • Open the wireless network settings on your mobile device
  • Search for SSID: “mccd-wifi”
  • Log in using the following credentials:
    • Username: Guestwifi
    • Password: MCCDis#1
