The short play “Heavenly Survivors” highlights the contributions of Fannie Lou Hamer, Marian Anderson, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Billie Holiday in their fight against racism and the oppression of women. These historical icons share their struggles and triumphs during their time on Earth through song and celebration. This performance, along with readings by local poets, honors Women’s History Month. Kim McMillion and Connie Owens-Patton will read before the Open Mic segment.
