Economics (AA-T)
In general, the discipline of economics is concerned with efficiency. How do we as individuals, businesses and government entities maximize individual satisfaction, business profit, and delivery of government goods and services given unlimited wants and needs and a scarcity of resources?
Macroeconomics deals with the total economy and society as a whole in dealing with these issues. Microeconomics studies how individuals, business firms and government entities make choices as they cope with unlimited wants and limited resources. Both macroeconomics and microeconomics meet transferability requirements and are approved, recommended or required for a number of Merced College degree programs.
