At Merced College, we honor and celebrate the rich cultural heritage and historical contributions of the LatinX community. The LatinX experience is rooted in a legacy of resilience, innovation, and a deep sense of community. From the ancient civilizations of Latin America to the vibrant diasporas of today, the LatinX community has played a pivotal role in shaping the world’s social, cultural, and political fabric. At Merced College, we are committed to recognizing and celebrating that history while creating opportunities for growth and success in the present.
Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI)
As a proud Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), Merced College is committed to fostering the success and empowerment of our Hispanic students. Situated in a state where 40.3% of the population identifies as Hispanic and in Merced County, where that number rises to 63.2%, we serve a diverse and vibrant community. Our student body reflects this richness, with 59.3% of our students identifying as Hispanic.

Extended Opportunities Programs & Services (EOPS) offers academic and support counseling, financial aid and other support services.

MESA’s primary goal is to help underserved and underrepresented students become successful in STEM studies and careers.

Puente Program
The mission of the Puente Project is to increase the number of educationally underserved students who enroll in four-year colleges and universities, earn degrees, and return to the community as leaders and mentors to future generations.

Business Resource Center
Offering free Non-Credit courses in ESL for non-English speakers, Truck Driving, Medical Assistant training, and GED preparation to support skill-building and career advancement.

Career Technical Education
Hands-on training programs in Automotive Technology, Industrial Electrical, and Welding to prepare students for high-demand careers in skilled trades.
