Transfer UC
The University of California is one of two public university systems in the state of California. It consists of nine “comprehensive” campuses and one campus devoted entirely to professional health science education, serving a total enrollment of over 200,000 students. In addition to fulfilling its teaching mission, the UC serves as the state’s research institution and engages in a number of public service programs and industry partnerships. The UC offers bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and professional degrees and provides a number of opportunities for post-degree continuing education.

UC TAP & UC TAG Information
UC TAP is a free online tool to help prospective UC transfer students track and plan their coursework.
The UC TAP tool is designed for use by students transferring from California Community Colleges, including those students who are seeking a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) with one of the six participating UC campuses. Students can use the Transfer Admission Planner to enter their coursework (completed and planned) from the very beginning of their college careers, or at any point when they decide to transfer to a UC campus.
The planner helps students track their progress toward meeting UC’s minimum requirements, and allows UC staff to communicate important information to prospective transfer students.
Nothing feels better than getting a guaranteed admissions spot at the UC. Which is exactly what TAG offers, at any one of six UC campuses. Interested students must meet campus-specific requirements to qualify for a TAG.
Participating Universities:
Follow the four steps below and secure your UC TAG.
- Choosing Your Campus: Before you apply, figure out where you want to go. Check out the UC TAG matrix for a full list of campuses in the program, their individual requirements, and what majors are excluded from TAG.
- Complete Your Application: Use the Transfer Admission Planner to fill out your TAG application. The Transfer Center staff or UC transfer advisors can help you fill out your TAG application. You’ll need to submit by September 30th for the fall term, or May 31st for the winter/spring term. Remember, if you miss the TAG deadline, you can still apply to UC during the regular application period (October 1–November 30 for the fall term or July 1-July 31 for the winter/spring term).
- Fulfill All Your Requirements: Once your application’s submitted and approved, you’ll need to complete all your remaining coursework, and hit the GPA requirements in your TAG agreement.
- The Final Application: When you’re on track for all of the above, fill out the UC Application. Make sure you submit your application between October 1–November 30 for the fall term and between July 1-31 for the winter/spring term.
